Jo: I am an amateurish smallholder. I live in Gateshead, NE England just close to the County Durham border, on the northern slope of the Beamish Valley. Windy but beautiful. We have sheep, chickens, ducks, bees, dogs, cat, veg and fruit plots and an edible forest garden in the making. I also am the sometimes proud, sometimes infuriated, never bored, mum of three artistic, performing teenagers, two ballet dancers and a musician, and the wife of an Everton supporter. To earn money I run an out of school club and am a director of Emma & Jo Ltd who help businesses and educational establishments with their social media marketing. I also run my own very family friendly holiday letting property in SW France (Lot) www.cahorscountyhouse.com For fun I putter along lanes and up and down hills on my tourer bike, I dabble in various crafty activities. I love baking, but despise the daily drudge of family meal provision. Previously I have been a doctor,a home educator and a Relate Counsellor. Some would say short attention span, I say "relishes a new challenge"
